Screen the Whole Market in Under a Second

Over 10,000 stocks, plus futures, forex, and crypto — one screener, sub-second results. How simple states and per-indicator filters work, and how to turn a result into a study, a monitor, or a full analysis.

Most screeners make you choose: a broad universe with shallow filters, or deep filters on a canned list of large caps. The Market Agent X screener refuses the trade-off. It runs across the whole market — every listed stock, plus futures, forex, and crypto — and returns results in under a second, because the heavy computation already happened before you asked.

Here's how to actually use it, from your first filter to what you do with the names that survive.

One screener, every market

The tabs across the top are the markets, and each one is a full universe, not a sample:

The whole-market stock screener returning 6,271 matches with trend, momentum, and volume columns
The stocks tab mid-screen: 6,271 matches from the full listed universe, ranked and sortable, returned in well under a second.

That match count is the tell. A screener that comes back with 6,271 results isn't searching a curated list — it's actually sweeping the market, and the filters you add from here are carving a real universe instead of somebody's pre-selection.

Two ways to filter: states or indicators

The filter system has two altitudes, and knowing when to use each is most of the skill.

Simple states — describe what you want

The fast path is a row of plain-English market states: Trend (up or down), Momentum, Volatility, Volume, Price level, Market cap. Each one is a pre-built condition you toggle rather than configure. "Trend up + momentum + elevated volume" is three clicks and reads like the sentence you were already thinking.

Detailed filters — specify exactly what you mean

When a state is too blunt, open the detailed filters and set the condition per indicator: exact oscillator thresholds, price relative to specific moving averages, range and volume conditions with your own numbers. The states are opinions the screener offers; the detailed filters are opinions you bring. Both compile to the same sub-second query, so precision costs you nothing in speed.

A sane starting recipe

Start with states to get the universe roughly right — trend up, liquid, mid-cap or larger. Then add one or two detailed conditions to express the actual idea. Screens with fifteen filters don't find better names; they find fewer names for accidental reasons.

The futures tab is quietly the sharpest one

Futures screening usually means price and volume, because that's all most tools carry. This one also carries positioning columns — how the major participant groups are leaning in each contract, drawn from public positioning data and the platform's computed studies. That means you can screen not just for what a contract is doing, but for who is on which side while it does it.

The futures tab: positioning columns sit right beside price and trend, so crowded and contrarian setups surface in the same pass as the technicals.

Saved screens and starred symbols

Two features turn one-off queries into a process:

1

Save the screen

Any filter combination can be saved and re-run with one click. A good screen is a hypothesis about the market — saving it means you can ask the same question every morning and watch how the answer changes, which is often more informative than the answer itself.

2

Star the survivors

Star a symbol and it joins your starred set — the names you're actively tracking across the platform. Starring is how a screen result graduates from "matched my filters once" to "part of my current research."

From a row in a table to actual work

A screener that ends at a table makes you do the real work somewhere else. Here, every result row is a launch point:

The loop in one line

Screen the universe → star the survivors → study the best one → monitor the rest. Under a second for the first step means the other three get your actual attention.
